Paddleboarding
From a paddling perspective, Bibione is very similar to neighboring Lignano, as its circumnavigation also leads over the Tagliamento River, a few hinterland canals, a lagoon and over the sea. Unfortunately, there are no shortcuts due to the lack of other waterways. Bibione's lagoon is relatively small and leads to Vallevecchia. To the east, you quickly cross the Tagliamento and are already on the beach at Lignano Riviera. Those who love monotonous straight-ahead paddling are of course welcome to cover the almost ten-kilometer-long coastline of Bibione - it is definitely a mental challenge of a special kind.
Swimming
Bibione has a sandy beach that is up to 300 m wide and around 12 km long. The sand comes from the Friulian Dolomites and is washed to the coast by the Tagliamento River. The water is clean and the resort was awarded EMAS environmental certification in 2014. There are also wonderful places to read a book under the sun or take a dip in the waves, away from the sheltered beaches.

Worth seeing

For people with reduced mobility, a free shuttle bus can also be booked from June to September (reservations at: iat@comunesanmichele.it or phone +39 (0)431 444846.
