General information
Paddleboarding
The three main towns of Omišalj, Njivice and Malinska offer stand-up paddlers a lot of great water accesses and small bays with wonderfully clear water. If you don't have a SUP with you, you rent one on the beaches. You can then either stay on the beaches or enjoy the untouched nature far away from them. Between these towns there is a lot of forest behind rocky shores, and some hidden bays can only be reached by water. It is certainly possible to paddle from place to place along the coast, as the distances are very short (a few kilometers). You will occasionally pass one or two nudist sunbathers. Beautiful and varied SUP tours are possible, especially in Malinska and Njivice, by paddling along the shore of the bay and then crossing the sea to the other end of the bay or town.
Swimming
Like all sea accesses on Krk, the northwest of the island becomes a bathtub in summer. The average temperature in July is around 24°C, with maximum temperatures reaching 28°C. Even in April and November, maximum temperatures of just under 20°C can be expected.
There are a number of beautiful beaches in the three holiday resorts, many of which are concreted and paved, but some are also gravel beaches. Away from these beaches, there are small bays and hidden natural beaches along the lonely shores. Some of these can only be reached from the water, while others can be reached via small footpaths and hiking trails.

Worth seeing
In the bay of Sepen near Omišalj there is the archaeological site of Fulfinum Mirine, which presumably reveals the remains of the Roman town of Fulfinum. However, parts of the former town are below sea level, as the water level has risen since ancient times.
There are even more finds for archaeology and history fans to marvel at at the archaeological site of Cickini near Malinska. These are probably church buildings from the period between the 5th and 7th centuries.
Each of the three small towns in the northwest of the island has its own individual character and numerous historical sights. In Malinska, Njivice and Omišalj you can leisurely explore the typical local town centers and of course go swimming and SUPing.
The 18,000 m² Dubec Forest Park was established in Omišalj in 1925 and has been regularly expanded. Numerous hiking trails allow you to experience its picturesque vegetation and move from one vantage point to the next, always with a view of the bay and the small marina below.

Extra Tips
The town of Malinska boasts a kilometer-long promenade, ideal for walking, cycling and relaxing with a sea view. The Paradise Trail, on the other hand, leads three kilometers along the coast to Njivice in the north. It is a must for nature lovers and those seeking relaxation.
In Malinska you also have the opportunity to enjoy a regional and seasonal tasting menu consisting of six courses and get to know the finesse of the island's cuisine.
Have you ever ridden a quad bike? If not, you can do so in Malinska and join a quad tour lasting several hours. The tour guide not only drives his passengers over hill and dale, but also through the water and to wonderful views over the sea.
Every year in June, the Fulfinum Mirine archaeological site hosts the Ancient Days, a two-day ancient festival that allows every visitor to immerse themselves in the culture and way of life of times long past. The festival has become one of the most important cultural events in the north of the island.
There are many other interesting events in the region, especially in summer, such as the Beerfest and the All that Jazz Art Festival in Malinska, the Ice Cream Festival and the Outdoor Weekend in Njivice, as well as various sailing regattas.
